In partnership with Foundation Center's New York headquarters, Apra of Greater New York (Apra GNY) presents Point on Prospecting (PoP) Talks, interactive roundtable conversations that feature experts from within the nonprofit community collaborating on an array of subjects.
On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, please join us for a PoP Talk focused on advancing the fundraising goals of higher education institutions and nonprofits. The greater New York area is host to more than a thousand public and private colleges and universities, all of which have unique development challenges and ambitious fundraising goals. Nine-figure gifts to higher education and ten-figure campaigns have been in the headlines in recent years, but below the fold has been a downward trend in alumni participation. We invite all ranks of staff from higher education fundraising shops, from directors of prospect research—to alumni relations—to frontline major gift officers, to join our conversation on best practices in young alumni engagement, parent fundraising, and identifying non-alumni (“town” or "friend") prospects. And, of course, how to identify, cultivate, and solicit your next nine-figure gift!
This event is open to fundraising and nonprofit professionals of all stripes. Whether you are a member of a large development research team, a lone gift officer, or a one-person development shop, we welcome your participation in this unique peer learning experience.
